Advocacy
The Durex Network utilises its expertise to support policy and social change in the field of sex and reproductive healthcare.
Gender equity, protection from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS, and unplanned pregnancies at all stages of life are at the top of the Durex Network’s agenda.
Through its work alongside other businesses within the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GBC), the Durex Network seeks to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS-related issues, especially gender-based inequalities, and to support action to tackle the pandemic at an international level.
As a member of the European Commission Safer Sex Roundtable, the Durex Network partners with governments and civil society to establish options for the promotion of the reproductive healthcare of young people in Europe.
The Durex Network is also a member of the Interagency Working Group on Comprehensive Condom Programming led by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to scale up awareness of condoms in preventing HIV and other STIs among sexually active people.
H Alliance membership enables the Durex Network to steer gender-equity initiative Program H in collaboration with other advocates and global healthcare experts.
And at a national level, work with key organisations ensures members of the public as well as policy makers are kept aware of sexual health issues and agree to tackle them.
